The sleeping Lady Mountain Lions (SLML) Club annually awards scholarships to local students who received award scholarships from the preceding year. The number and dollar amounts of each scholarship are determined on an annual basis by the SLML Club. Scholarships can range from $250 to $1500, depending on funds available each year. They can only reapply three times after the initial award given to them their senior year of high school, for a total of four awards.
APPLICATION DEADLINE INFORMATION
All applications must be postmarked or delivered to the Sleeping Lady mountain Lions Club no later than by March 20th.
All applications received on or before the deadline date will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. They will send their recommendations to the SLML board of directors to decided on the final award recipients.
The SLML Club uses the following guidelines in selecting scholarship recipients.
Ÿ Financial need: Applicants who have financial need brought on by family situation, medical problems or income will carry the heaviest weight in the decision process.
Ÿ Community Service: Applicants who show participation in the community through positive involvement.
Ÿ Grade Point Average: In order to be considered, applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA in to receive the award.
Ÿ Residency: Applicants may attend school outside of Alaska; however, they must continue to be an Eagle River/Chugiak/Peters Creek resident to be considered for a scholarship.

Ÿ Official copy of school transcript
Ÿ Send proof of continued Residency (AK driver's license) in Chugiak/Eagle River, Area.
Note: Incomplete applications and/or late applications will not be considered.
