Tree of Giving
The SLML are provided names of community members who could use some assistance at Christmas with gift for their children We coordinate several giving trees around the ER/Chugiak area to make sure all children have a Merry Christmas.
Hope Community Resources
We annually participated in the Walk for Hope event for over 30 years, supporting Hope Community Resources and our community members who experience disabilities. Always a good time!
Independence Day Celebration
The Eagle River Lions club host their annual July 3rd Independent Day celebration for the community. The event is full of music, vendors, beer garden, kids activities and a fantastic firework display. The SLML hosted the face and hair painting booth and also provided vision screening.
Bear Paw Festival
The SLML is a corporate sponsor for the Bear Paw Festival. Annual we sponsor Bear Paw Car Show. We also participate in many other Bear Paw events.
ARCH HOME
Adolescent Residential Center for Help (ARCH) is an intensive, residential treatment program for chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. Located in Eagle River, the facility houses 24 residents ages 13 through 18 depending upon the individual needs of patients.
ARCH Provides: Psychological services
Group, individual and family counseling
On-site educational services through the Anchorage School District Nutritional programs and information.
SLML provides a variety of support to ARCH including holiday dinners, Christmas gifts, bedding, graduation backpacks and other Misc. needs.
Community Easter Egg Hunt
This event is sponsored by mulitple non-profit organizations in our community, and is coordinated by the SLML. Kids come from all over the municipality and Mat-su Valley to enjoy finding eggs, seeing the Easter bunny and winning prizes.
Senior Bingo
We host bingo at the Chugiak Senior Center on the first Monday of each month. The Seniors enjoy playing bingo and winning prizes. If we miss a week, they are so disappointed plus our members enjoy spending time with our Seniors.
