In addition to vision assistance, the SLML offer free vision screening to youth in our community through school events, health fairs and at the Alaska State Fair.
Our vision camera uses infrared imaging to help diagnose many common eye conditions. When these conditions are caught at an early age there are steps that can be taken to help improve eye health and in many cases prevent the conditions from progressing.
Children can be screened as early as 6 months old. We also welcome adults to have their vision check at any of our eye screening events.
