LION JULY 3RD COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

The Eagle River Lions club host their annual July 3rd Independent Day celebration for the community.  Come out and enjoymusic, vendors, beer garden, kids activities and a fantastic firework display.  The SLML hosted the face and hair painting booth and also provided vision screening and help ER Lions whereever needed.

The event is named in memory of the project visionary "Lion Finis Sheldon".

TREE OF GIVING

Elementary and Middle Schools in the Eagle River Chugiak Community submit referrals for children in families needing assistance providing for their children at Christmas. Children between the ages of 1 and 16 years of age may qualify for the program.

TREES contain tags with a child’s age, gender, sizes, needs and wants. Local citizens take tags, shop and return gifts to the trees. The SLML Tree of Giving team retrieves gifts and arrange getting them to families in time for Christmas.
